Multivision: Capturing the Essence of Cities Through Art

Florian W. Mueller, a renowned artist, has created a captivating series called "Multivision" that combines photography and art to capture the essence of cities. The Multivision series is a collection of multilayered photographs, each artwork composed of three carefully selected images. Mueller's goal is to convey the unique emotions and feelings he experienced in each city he visited. With projects already featuring New York, Hong Kong, and Istanbul, the series showcases the incredible diversity and variety of these urban landscapes.

Using a combination of classical framing or mounting on Dibond with or without plexiglass, Mueller prints his artworks on fine art paper. The attention to detail and craftsmanship in the production process ensures that each piece is of the highest quality.

The Multivision series offers different editions, each with its own specifications. Edition 1 measures 120 x 120cm and is limited to only 5 pieces, with an additional 2 artist proofs. Edition 2 is sized at 80 x 80cm and limited to 10 pieces, also with 2 artist proofs. Finally, Edition 3 is a smaller 30 x 30cm size and is unlimited in quantity.

Creating the Multivision artworks involves either multiple exposures in-camera or layering in Photoshop. Mueller's meticulous approach to capturing the character of each city ensures that every artwork is a true representation of the place it portrays.

The Multivision series began in 2015 and continues to grow. In addition to New York, Hong Kong, and Istanbul, Mueller plans to expand the collection to include cities such as Singapore, Malaysia, and Los Angeles.

One of the challenges Mueller faced during the creation of this series was the need to be open-minded and embrace the unique qualities of each city. Whether it was the bustling streets of New York or the vibrant smells and sounds of Hong Kong, Mueller immersed himself in the atmosphere of each place to capture its essence.
